The Blue Moorii is a good sized cichlid with a stocky elongated body and a somewhat pointed snout. This snout is similar looking to that of a dolphin, thus the names Malawi Blue Dolphin and Blue Dolphin Cichlid. They reach up to about 10 inches (25 cm) in length, and sometimes grow a bit bigger in the aquarium.
